How do we talk about traumatic events in our lives? There isn’t a right way—all we know is we should. If you are stressing, reeling, crying (or anything in between) about your surgery (whether elective or not), find someone you trust and talk about it. Even if that person has no ability to relate, just getting your feelings out there is good for you.
If nothing else, find a therapist—there are a lot of cheap options available for everyone online nowadays.
